Summary

What I love most about the Bellavita bath lift is its convenience and ease of use. It is not some heavy clunky thing that you have to struggle to get into place in the tub. Just put the pieces together, connect the controller and you are good to go.

Designed in collaboration with healthcare experts, the Bellavita bath lift is easy to use, ergonomic, safe and perfect for people who need assistance getting in and out of a bathtub. It rises to an impressive 48cm and goes as low as 6cm. It is super lightweight, making it easy to handle even for someone elderly or disabled.

This bath aid works well in most tubs but is especially ideal for deep tubs. It doesn’t have a swivel function so we don’t recommend it for users who cannot swing their legs over the side of the tub.

The controller is easy to use and you don’t have to worry about water damage. See our full review below.

What I like

  • Easy to use
  • Sturdy design
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Travel-friendly

What I don’t like

  • No swivel function
  • Backrest takes up space

What are you buying?

1. 6cm min height, 48cm max height

When completely lowered, the seat measures about 6cm high. This is low enough for most bathtubs although the water may not fully cover your shoulders. You may have to fill up the tub higher than usual.

While in the tub, you can recline the backrest by as much as 50 degrees for more comfort. The seat is 42cm deep and 35cm wide. This is big enough for most users.

When it’s time to get out, the seat seamlessly rises to a max height of 48cm. This makes it easy to dismount from the tub especially if it is deep.

As I mentioned, there is no swivel function. You’ll have to swing your legs to the side to dismount.

2. Sturdy but lightweight

The maximum weight limit for the lift is 140kg. It’s built to be sturdy, safe and durable.

Despite the heavy-duty design, it’s quite light. It weighs just 9.3kgs. It’s easy to lift in and out of the tub. The lightweight design and compact 2-piece assembly also comes in handy when you are travelling.

3. Floating hand control

You control the lift using a hand control attached to the back of the lift with a cable. There are only four buttons which are brightly coloured and large sized for easy pressing.

The best part is that you can leave the controller floating in the water. It is completely waterproof. So don’t bother looking for a dry place to keep it when bathing. Having it in the water with you also makes it easy to just pick it up and lift yourself out of the water when you are done bathing.

4. Lithium battery powered

The Bellavita bath lift is powered by a compact fast-charge lithium battery. When travelling, it’s safe to take on an airplane but make sure you ask your airline before booking.

How easy is it to use?

It’s a breeze to use. Assembling the lift takes just a couple of minutes. There are only two pieces – the backrest and the seat – that need to be joined.

You don’t need to plug it in. Just make sure the battery is fully charged. Using the hand controller is easy. The buttons are widely spaced and large enough that you can press them without even looking. Remember you can leave the controller floating in the water as you take your bath.

When not in use, the lift takes up very little storage space. You can just lean it against the wall.

What accessories are included?

There are no accessories provided with this bath lift nor do you need to buy any.

Pros

  • Easy to use.
  • Very low minimum height and high maximum height.
  • Sturdy design with a high weight limit.
  • Compact and lightweight.
  • Travel-friendly.

Cons

  • No swivel function.
  • Backrest takes up a lot of space and can prevent full submersion unless you have a deep tub.

Anything else you should know?

Don’t forget to put in the suction cups before you place the lift in the tub. These cups provide a strong grip on the floor of the bathtub, preventing the lift from slipping and causing a serious accident.

Conclusion

What I love most about the Bellavita bath lift is its convenience and ease of use. It is not some heavy clunky thing that you have to struggle to get into place in the tub. Just put the pieces together, connect the controller and you are good to go.

You’ll love how low and high it goes, which allows you to take a deep soaking bath and dismount safely when you are done.
